Lettie Chambers —
Assistant Explorer Scout
Leader
I’m
Lettie and I have been a member of the Scout Association ever since
they let me become a Cub with Titchfield Sea Scouts in Southampton. I
later belonged to a Scout Troop in Ramsbottom, and followed this
through to a Venture Scout Unit with whom I was lucky enough to
complete my Explorer Belt Challenge. While I was a member of the
Venture Scouts, they changed to become the Scout Network, and I played
an active role in the early years of the Greater Manchester North
Network. I went to Kandersteg with the Network during the summer before
I went to University and this was probably one of the best holidays of
my life! While at university in St Andrews I helped with the 8th Fife
St Andrews Scout Troop and played a role in setting up the Explorer
Unit there. I joined the North Face Unit in 2007 and have enjoyed being
a leader here.
By day I am a medical student, (hoping one day to be a doctor,) I did
half of my degree in St Andrews and am completing my three clinical
years here in Edinburgh. In my spare time I race cross country mountain
bikes, which has become somewhat of an obsession and I also enjoy
mountaineering in Scotland and abroad. There is nothing that I love
more than a weekend in the hills with good friends, a nice bothy and
roaring fire.
